Yarn, Natter, Blether
The Reading Agency is a UK-wide charity tackling life’s big challenges through the proven power of reading to fulfil our mission of creating a world where everyone is reading their way to a better life. Reading Friends is our pioneering programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund designed to tackle one of the most pressing social issues of our time - loneliness. We know that 9 million people in the UK report feeling lonely often or always, and Reading Friends tackles this one shared story at a time. We work in partnership with organisations including libraries, care homes, community groups, prisons and hospitals across the UK to develop a community of people who are able to connect through the power of a shared story.
Yarn, Natter, Blether tells the story of four of our Reading Friends as written by authors/poets Ifor ap Glyn, Veronica Henry, Ian McMillan and Vaseem Khan. The film showcases our work on loneliness at The Reading Agency, and the transformative power of a shared story. Find out more about our programme, Reading Friends https://readingfriends.org.uk
