We Are The Same Inside by Melody Makers Choir and Horfield Primary School Choir for the NHS
'We Are The Same Inside’ by Melody Makers Choir and Horfield Primary School Choir celebrates the NHS - raising money for their local hospital charity Southmead Hospital Charity.
The video marks the 70th year of the NHS and is a thank you to the NHS staff who save lives and care for people everyday, capturing the ethos of a dedicated and inclusive healthcare service.
The 80 strong-choir is made up of people from communities surrounding Southmead Hospital, including many former patients, NHS staff as well as children from Horfield C of E Primary School.
Money raised from digital downloads of the song are donated to Southmead Hospital Charity to support patients and to fund pioneering medical research and innovative new equipment.
The video was filmed at Southmead Hospital and features staff and patients, and created by Southemad Hospital Charity supporter and filmmaker Richard Mann.
Adrian Brown, corporate and community manager for Southmead Hospital Charity, said: “The message in the video is a powerful one that really conveys the strength of feeling that people have for the NHS and for its staff."
Natalie Veal, Melody Makers choir leader and songwriter, said she wanted to bring together her love of music with her gratitude for the NHS.
“Every member of the choir have put a lot of love into this song; it’s our way of thanking the hospital staff and giving back to our community.
“In writing the song we really thought about what the NHS means to us and the work that NHS staff do."
The video has had almost 13,000 views on You Tube and reached number 7 in the Amazon charts during its first week of release in December 2018.
