Bliss (for babies born premature or sick) – Inside neonatal care

1 in 8 babies are born needing specialist care. This isn’t what most parents expect when they are having a baby.

At Bliss we know how difficult having a baby on the unit can be, and in our first ever brand video we wanted to send a message to parents that we are there for them and their baby – through every step of their journey, whatever the outcome.

With only one minute, we initially struggled with how to talk about our work and all the areas that we cover – from supporting parents, health professionals, campaigning and funding research.

But in the end we decided the most important thing for us was to accurately reflect and represent the diversity of families and experiences inside the neonatal unit – from a mix of races, ethnicities, genders, as well as premature and full term babies.

There is nothing more powerful than seeing yourself on screen, and we hope that our video inspires parents to get the support they need so that they can be there for their baby.

We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the families and health professionals who took part and allowed us to film such an intimate part of their lives.
