Transaid's 20th Anniversary Film
Transaid transforms lives through safe, available, and sustainable transport. Founded by Save the Children, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and its Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, the international development organisation shares over 20 years’ worth of expertise from multiple countries with partners and governments – empowering people to build the skills they need to transform their own lives.
As an organisation that works to solve transport challenges in sub-Saharan Africa, we are very well supported by the UK transport and logistics industry. The aim of this film was to celebrate our 20th anniversary and to show our industry supporters how they are helping to make a difference by supporting our work. Our main focus was on the people who are working on the ground or benefiting from our programmes. We wanted to put their voices at the forefront of the film to recount first-hand how they have been empowered to create change in their communities through the work of Transaid and our partners.
We have two main focuses to our work: road safety and access to healthcare. In addition to showcasing our achievements over the past two decades, this film is the first to provide a broad overview covering the entire range of our programmes. We selected Zambia as a country of focus as we are currently involved in professional driver training and access to healthcare projects there. Our aim was to bring together elements from these two main areas to demonstrate how - together with our partners - we are making a difference in a broad variety of areas within the transport and development niche.
