The Living Room - The Underpass
The Living Room provides free, abstinence based, addiction recovery support for all addictions. We support 447 people a year to achieve long term recovery from their addiction, whether it is a substance or behaviour dependency they have, to mask their feelings. Once people have committed to abstinence or may have received detox or treatment, we work in a person centred group, peer support, professionally facilitated 12-step therapeutic setting, to enable people to live their lives on life's terms. We work with the person to identify the root cause of their dependency and connect them within the community, arming them with tools to cope, whatever obstacles may present that could send them back to their addiction taking control of their lives. We support family and carers of people who suffer with addiction too, as people are part of a bigger network, that may have broken down.
We want to work with everyone in Hertfordshire that needs us, and those that need support the most usually don't have the financial means to get the aftercare or long term support they need. We love people, until they are connected enough to love themselves.
Addiction doesn't discriminate and neither do we. The Living Room believes everyone has potential and a life worth living.
