SWEDA 'Here to Help'

SWEDA is delighted to present our film ‘Here to help’ an in-house production by Alex Balerdi our volunteer film-maker. A simple brief: portray us as we are; our people, our services and how we help and support people who are affected by Eating Disorders in Somerset.

SWEDA a small ‘grass roots’ mental health charity who for the past 25 years has been doing some excellent work with people affected by Eating Disorders; one of only a handful of charities across the country. Over the years our services have taken different forms, but they have all been underpinned by the foundations of SWEDA as a user-influenced, self-help organisation, based on `pro-recovery' who firmly believes in engaging, enabling and empowering people to live a normal and satisfying quality of life as possible.

Eating Disorders are now in the public eye but there is still a long way to go. The tide is slowly turning and the challenging issues surrounding this condition are now being brought to the fore and as a charity who has been working in this area for a long-time we welcome the opportunity to raise the profile of SWEDA and the debilitating condition we work with - Eating Disorders.
