Surviving the Sun
Standing Voice is proud to present Surviving the Sun: an intimate portrait of one family's journey through a life-saving Skin Cancer Prevention Programme. In Africa, people with albinism face severe discrimination and violence; many are marginalised from services, and hundreds have been attacked for their body parts. But by far their greatest threat is skin cancer. For five years, Standing Voice has worked to combat this crisis by building a network of clinics to provide regular health education and treatment to thousands of people with albinism in their own communities across Tanzania. Surviving the Sun is a documentation and celebration of this effort, and highlights our path forward as we continue to grow the most ambitious programme of skin cancer prevention for people with albinism in Africa today.
