Changing livelihoods, changing lives.
Survivors of genocide or refugees fleeing conflict, war or persecution; World Jewish Relief helps people who have been through devastating life experiences to find employment, rebuild their lives and start over.
Our livelihood projects help people around the world including refugees living in the UK and Greece, survivors of genocide in Rwanda and Internally Displaced People (IDPs) who have fled conflict in Ukraine.
We offer individualised support and specialist training so people can find sustainable employment. We know that a job leads to self-sufficiency, boosts self-esteem, encourages integration and gives people the opportunity to make a positive contribution to society.
Our founders helped Jewish refugees escape the Nazis and rebuild their lives in the UK. Since then we have developed our expertise though employment programmes for Jewish people living below the poverty line in the former Soviet Union.
This film shows how we have become a lifeline to people who have suffered great hardship and how our support makes them feel part of a family. It is in accordance with our Jewish values where the highest form of giving is to strengthen someone's hand so they are not dependent on others.
By changing livelihoods we change lives
