Ruth and Leslie's Story
The film centres around Ruth and Leslie, a devoted husband and wife, married for over 50 years. Never seperated and always together, this was your archetypal love story, but with tragedy lingering just below the surface, as Leslie is living with Parkinsons and Dementia.
Dementia is a story facing 1 in 6 of the UK population and is a growing problem facing society. And it is one of the main reasons why this film resonated so much with the audience. Leslie could be (or is or has been) their Mum or Dad.
Dementia doesn’t discriminate and in times like this, families like Ruth and Leslie need the support of charities like Jewish Care.
Jewish Care is the largest health and social care organisation serving the Jewish community in London and the South East. We run over 70 centres and services, our 1,375 staff and 3,000 volunteers touching the lives of 10,000 older and vulnerable people every week.
