The Royal Anniversary Trust is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s education charity, promoting world class excellence and achievement through the Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education. The Prizes are the most prestigious national recognition open to a UK university or college.

Universities and colleges are invited to submit entries every two years. Entries may be in any area of their work and must meet the criteria: excellence; innovation; benefit to the institution itself and beyond the institution for the good of people and society.

Since it began in 1994 a total of 253 Queen’s Anniversary Prizes to 80 universities and 45 colleges of further and higher education in the UK. The subjects recognised for outstanding excellence, innovation and beneficial impact have been many and varied

This film celebrates the internationally acclaimed prize-winning work in timber engineering, sustainable construction and wood science undertaken by Edinburgh Napier University. Annually around £65million of new products and systems are manufactured each year based on the work the University has developed with the industry.
