Muslim Women's Network (MWN) Helpline

Muslim Women's Network UK (MWNUK) is a small but national charity that works to advance equality and improve social justice for Muslim women and girls in the UK. We work on a range of issues including domestic abuse, forced marriage, sexual exploitation, mental health matters, divorce and discrimination.

We run the only national faith and culturally aware helpline (our MWN Helpline) through which Muslim women and girls – and all others in need – can seek specialist support and advice. The aim of our charity film was to raise awareness of the existence of our Helpline so that no individual facing abuse and discrimination feels that they have no other option than to suffer in silence – and can feel encouraged to take that first very brave step of seeking help. Calls to our MWN Helpline have substantially increased this year as a result of the video.

Our activities also including providing a faith and culturally aware counselling service, providing support through our MWN hardship fund, conducting research, producing reports and resources, campaigning, engaging with government bodies to effect policy change and holding or participating in training and awareness raising workshops/events.
