Meet Madeleine @ The Fifth Trust
Meet Madeleine, is part of a four episode, short video sequence, about the Fifth Trust Work Centre for adults with learning disabilities. The short, Bright, colourful videos are aimed at prospective students and their families or carers. In this film we use Madeleines story to show that there are often hidden benefits from attending the Centre.
Madeleine’s story tells the viewer how in the past, her sensory experience of the world often caused Madeleine to experience panic attacks and other symptoms of anxiety. Even the noise of a coffee machine was difficult for Madeleine to cope with. However, after she started working in our café with the help of staff Madeleine was able to overcome her difficulties.
We hope that the film will help prospective students realise that by attending the Centre, similar situations for them may become more manageable. Sensory overload is difficult to understand, but at the Fifth Trust we work with students to improve their experience of the world and develop strategies too help them manage situations.
