I have, I am, I will
With our film we wanted to get to the heart of what Keeping Abreast is all about, and raise awareness of breast reconstruction surgery after a diagnosis of breast cancer or discovery of the BRCA gene, and the importance of peer support at this difficult time.
We wanted to tell someone at the start of their own or a loved one’s breast reconstruction journey, that they are not alone, and encourage them to reach out for the support on offer. We want them to know that no question is too big or small to ask.
In the film we meet women who have been touched and helped by the charity, and hear about their lives, loves and personalities. As they share their stories we see how individual and unique they are, with no two journeys alike. Yet the more we hear, the more a common thread of empathy and support emerges.
