#StillMe; My body after cancer

#StillMe is an awareness campaign by Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialised nursing care and support for young people facing cancer.

Cancer, and cancer treatment, can have a huge impact on what your body looks like. And when you’re young, that can be especially tough to deal with. Hair loss, weight changes, scarring – young people with cancer face worries about their body at a time when they’re still figuring out who they are and how they want the world to see them. Teenage Cancer Trust is here to support young people while their relationship with their body changes. We want them to feel able to look in the mirror and say: ‘How I’m feeling is ok. I’m not alone. And I’m still me.’

We launched Teenage Cancer Trust’s first brand campaign, #StillMe which highlighted the huge impact cancer can have on body confidence and self-esteem. We did this through young people telling their stories and talking about their experiences.

Creating #StillMe is very much part of our ambition to drive awareness around the issues that are important to young people with cancer, while talking about the work of Teenage Cancer Trust in providing clinical, emotional and practical support.
