Grief Encounter 15th Anniversary Appeal Film
Every 22 minutes in the UK a child is bereaved of a parent or sibling. Child bereavement charity Grief Encounter provide support services to bereaved children and their families via their unique Family Programme and their new national helpline. This film created for the charity's 15th anniversary fundraising dinner aims to convey the ever-increasing numbers affected by bereavement that Grief Encounter support and have supported over the years, and the way the charity brings light back into the lives of these families at the darkest of times. The film begins in black and white as different family members supported over the last 15 years tell their story and then changes to colour and lighter tones as they talk about how Grief Encounter has helped them. When Nicky, who came to Grief Encounter in year 1, pins the photo of her husband to the board it is the only picture. By the time Grief Encounter's most recent client puts her photo up, the board is covered with 1000s of images representing all the families Grief Encounter has made a difference to - and hammering home the statistic of just how many children are affected by bereavement and the growing numbers who will need their support in the future.
