Give a woman Christmas


‘Give a woman Christmas’ highlighted how, without One25 and its supporters, Christmas would be just another day for women trapped in street sex work in Bristol.

The point-of-view video tells the story of a woman’s journey from the cold streets at night to the warmth of the drop-in Christmas meal. This gave supporters a direct connection to the hidden women we work with and it inspired hope and action through positive messaging.

The video helped us connect with new supporters, hugely increasing the numbers of donations received throughout the appeal, raising over £15.5k.

Two Facebook posts had an organic reach of 19k and 10k - well beyond our audience of 4k followers. Our existing supporters responded enthusiastically to a two-phase email campaign, with massive open rates of 55% and 47%.

Alongside the video (through email, social media and printed newsletters), audiences were also encouraged to send in loving messages to women at the Christmas meal and to make gifts in kind to fill gift bags for women.

The film was made in-house on a zero-budget by the communications officer and donor fundraiser.
