Gesher Primary Special School - Awareness Film

Click here to watch the Live Stream at 7pm

This video was designed to raise awareness of some of the challenges that children with special educational needs such as Autism and ADHD, can face on a daily basis in a mainstream school, where everyday simple occurrences such as noise and sound can be hugely overwhelming, causing distress, anxiety, confusion and misunderstood behaviours. We wanted to highlight how the right school setting could change a child's life and their wellbeing, at Gesher we believe each and every child deserves to have friends, be happy and secure. That their time at primary school should be a safe and meaningful experience. Where they feel valued, listened to and supported. Whilst this seems like such an obvious statement to make, unfortunately many children with special educational needs are in the wrong school environment where they are left in corridors, bullied in the playground and isolated at school, alongside this many mainstream schools do not have the resources to support their needs. This video's objective was to take people on that journey, so that they could understand how the right school environment could change a child and their family's life.
