Genesis Trust Bath - "What We Do"
The video’s main aim was to explain “what we do” as a charity to support homeless and vulnerable people in Bath. We also wanted an emotive element to encourage engagement, which is why the first half of the video explains why there is a need.
Alongside the emotive element, we wanted to explain our theory of change as an organisation, which feeds across our ten interlinking projects. This is conceptualised as “supporting people on their journey from crisis to independence”.
The objectives were to a) raise awareness of homelessness locally and our organisation and b) drive traffic to our website by encouraging people to find out more. We also wanted something that could sit on the landing page of the website as a first point of contact with our charity. Finally, we wanted a video which could be easily shared at presentations in the local community.
The campaign was launched on social media, reaching 2700 people across Twitter & Facebook which was a big success for a small charity. We also shared the video in our monthly e-newsletter, sent to over 1100 supporters, where it was the most popular story.
