The “Feel Amazing” film features a diverse range of ordinary Muslim people that captures the spirit of Ramadan, portraying how individuals and families throughout the UK think and celebrate Islam’s holiest month.
The video was shot entirely in-house by Muslim Aid’s creative team. The casting, involving people of all ages and walks of life, was mostly filled through an appeal on Instagram, Facebook and other social media.
Muslim people aren’t a homogenous group. Their heritage comes from many different countries and so, in the UK, they have unique yet shared experiences. This film reflects the spread of modern British Muslim identity who give so generously during Ramadan.
It features an organic farmer, female basketball players, a poet, a barber, young footballers, and more.
Fatiha El-Ghorri, comedian pokes fun. It’s “endless questions about do you loose any weight? I have been fasting for 30 years – what do you think?”.
The final crescendo of voices says their Zakat goes to “the greatest need,” the message central to Muslim Aid’s 2019 Ramadan campaign strategy.
There are 66.5k YouTube views of the video. Across social media, are 1.2m plays of the video, which include shorter 12 second and 30 second versions.
