The emotional film follows a small robot as it tries to fit into everyday life; struggling to bond with its mother and make friends at school, withdrawing, having problems with studying and suffering from flashbacks of distressing memories in a war zone.
These experiences are common for children who have lived through a war.
We consulted experts and worked with Raw London closely to ensure that the film reflected the reality of life for children who have experienced conflict.
Our core objective of the video was to be a driver in changing the conversation about the psychological impacts of war on children.
There has been a sea change in the perception of mental health in the UK, and it’s vital to take these issues as seriously for children dealing with the real consequences of living through conflict.
Without proper support, children risk developing psychological and emotional problems later in life, severely limiting their ability, and that of their families and communities, to rebuild their lives once the conflict has ended.
We need as many people as possible to join us in the conversation, so please vote for Roberta the Robot!
