Edible Playgrounds is a programme from UK charity Trees for Cities.
They transform school grounds into vibrant outdoor teaching gardens that inspire hands-on learning and get children excited about growing and eating healthy food. They help improve health and wellbeing, open up access to nature, and provide a fun outdoor learning environment that supports cross-curriculum teaching.
We produced the video as a way to help spread the word about the programme, using it as a took to reach potential partner schools who had yet to hear about it. One of the challenges we have found is finding ways to raise awareness about the programme and the generous funding we have available. Film is a wonderful medium to quickly convey large amounts of information, and allows us to reach the schools that most need it to realise their dreams of having their outdoor space transformed into a stunning teaching resource.
