East Anglian Air Ambulance: Mission 24/7

The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) has been providing a helicopter emergency medical service in the region for nearly 20 years and to-date has attended over 28,000 missions, saving thousands of lives. As we receive no regular government funding, we rely on our community for the £13 million we need each year to keep our helicopters flying. This charity can only exist if the community believes in us and supports us, so our reputation, our brand, and our staff are all critical in the charity’s success and future.

In February, we launched our ‘Mission 24/7’ campaign to fund a round-the-clock helicopter-borne service by the end of 2020 – filling the final gap in our cover. By flying 24/7 from Norwich in 2020 we will become the first air ambulance in the East of England to do so and estimate we will be able to be dispatched to up to 600 more missions a year, saving hundreds more lives. However, in order to go 24/7 we need to increase our annual charity income by an additional £1 million a year going forward (for what will be a 22% increase in activity, there will be just an 8% increase in cost) and we can only do this with the support of our community #Togetherwesavelives
