At Risk of Going Missing
When someone vulnerable goes missing, and their life may be at risk, EVERY SECOND COUNTS. For families who look after a person who is living with a physical or mental health condition which may cause them to go missing, both police, and search and rescue teams, actively encourage the completion of a “Herbert Protocol” form NOW… just in case!
The form can help to record a lot of useful information about the person, and this can be vital in helping police and search teams, should the person go missing, and may save vital minutes.
In Kent the form is known as the “At Risk of Going Missing” form. We hope that our video will encourage families to complete a form, by showing what a difference having a ready-completed form can make, when EVERY SECOND COUNTS!
In the UK, most search and rescue units, like Mountain Rescue, and Lowland Rescue teams, are charities, relying upon public donations to exist and to enable their highly trained volunteers to carry out the life-saving work that they do, for free, 24/7/365.
Kent Search and Rescue is such a charity and exists to assist police in the search for, and rescue of, vulnerable missing persons.
