Let's Talk More - Together, we can end loneliness
Loneliness and isolation are on the rise, with nine million lonely people in the UK.
That’s why we started our Be More Us campaign: to inspire connection, tackle loneliness and bring people together. Over 200 million people have engaged with the campaign so far.
Conversation and connection are good for us.
91% of us think that small moments of connection, like saying hello on the bus, or smiling at someone in the street, can make a difference to someone who is feeling lonely.
And for many people who are isolated and alone, that small moment of connection could be the first conversation they’ve had in weeks.
That’s why we created our Let’s Talk More video, to encourage people to make these small moments of connection happen.
We sent Mock the Week comedian, Andy Parsons, to spend a day in a shopping centre encouraging people to get off their smartphones and have a chat. Secret cameras captured the moment surprised shoppers were approached by Andy.
We want to celebrate the art of small talk and have a good natter.
