Charity Film Awards Shortlist Announced

The Charity Film Awards, recognising the very best films and videos that have been created by UK charities, has announced the Shortlist from the public voting round.

400 charities submitted their films and more than 65,000 members of the public cast their votes for their choice of charity film. Millions of additional views of the videos have resulted as well as millions of social media interactions.

125 charities have made the Shortlist where their films will be judged by an expert panel. The judges include senior figures from media, business, entertainment, civil society and the charity sector. The Celebrity Ambassadors for Charity Film Awards are Mariella Frostrup, Mark Chapman, Quentin Willson, Jason Bell, Chris Warburton and Levison Wood.

This is the 4th year of the Charity Film Awards which has seen over 1,200 charities benefit from the increased viewership and engagement the awards campaign brings. The awards are split into categories by turnover to ensure the charities have a level playing field. They represent the incredible diversity of charitable activity through powerful and creative film-making which shatters the common misconceptions of what makes a good charity film. The films are uplifting, inspirational, heart-warming and positive.

Simon Burton, Co-founder of the Charity Film Awards, commented: “The level of public engagement in the awards is spectacular and it is completely free of charge to the charities involved. The Awards give the truly creative films UK charities produce a context and shot of adrenaline resulting in a huge uplift in viewership, conversation and donations.”

The judges now have the tough task of reviewing the shortlisted videos to determine the Finalists. The winners will be announced at a red carpet ceremony in London in the Spring.

All of the videos in the awards can be seen on the Charity Film Awards website: Charity Film Awards Shortlist
