Patrick Russell is Senior Curator (Non-Fiction Film and Television), BFI National Archive. He is an expert on the history of both documentary filmmaking and corporate, government and charity commissioned film and video. He is author of the book 100 British Documentaries (2007), co-editor of Shadows of Progress: Documentary Film in Post-War Britain (2010) and since 2012 has written an occasional blog series, Shooting the Message, about production companies in the UK’s commissioned media sector.
