Levison Wood is a best-selling author, photographer and film-maker who has worked and travelled in over 100 countries. He is also as a Major in the British Army having served in Afghanistan with the Parachute Regiment. He has produced several documentaries including the critically acclaimed ‘Walking the Nile’ with Channel 4 and ‘Arabia’ with Discovery channel, which was shortlisted for the Television Broadcast Awards Best Documentary Series 2020. His six award winning books became best sellers in the UK and US and have been translated into several languages. His latest book ‘Arabia’ details a five thousand mile journey across the Middle East where he was embedded with Iraqi forces in the fight against ISIS and encountered the destruction of Homs and Palmyra in Syria. It was voted one of the best works of non fiction of 2019 by Hudson Books in the USA. Levison is a keen conservationist and is the patron and ambassador for a number of charities including UNICEF and the TUSK Trust. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, the Explorers Club in New York and CASS Business School. He was educated at Nottingham University and holds an Honorary doctorate at Staffordshire University. When not travelling, he lives in London.
