Caroline is Chairman and Founder of Together, the UK Community Channel, and until March 2017 was Founder CEO of the Media Trust, the UK’s leading communications charity.
Caroline has recently launched the Social Founder Network, connecting founders across the charity and social enterprise sector.
Caroline set up Media Trust in 1994, to connect the UK media industry and the voluntary sector. Over the last 23 years, many thousands of media professionals and companies have given their time, resources and creative power to amplify the work of tens of thousands of charities, community groups and young people across the UK through training, volunteering, film production and content distribution. In 2000, Caroline set up the Community Channel, which in 2016 became an independent Community Benefit Society after a successful Crowdfunder campaign. Community Channel is now called Together, is owned by its new community shareholders and supported by the UK broadcast and digital industry, broadcasting free-to-air on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat. Caroline is a Board Director of the UK broadcasters’ Creative Diversity Network, a Social Entrepreneur in Residence at INSEAD, an Associate of Newnham College, Cambridge and was a founder trustee of the Small Charities Coalition. She has 2 sons, is an avid consumer of arts and culture, and ran the London Marathon in April 2016. Caroline was awarded an MBE for services to the media industry, is an EY Social Entrepreneur of the Year, and a winner of the Cannes Chimera Award and the PRCA Charity Communications Award.
