Chairman, NED and Advisor
Following four years as an Army officer, Alastair started his business career with BusinessWeek International magazine in New York and then, over 20 years, set up and ran two successful PR agencies in the UK – Scope Communications (now part of Ketchum) and Consolidated Communications – the first UK agency to be launched with backing from private equity and PRWeek’s Agency of the Year 2001. After selling Consolidated in 2001, he was for six years CEO of Reed Exhibitions Ltd - then the world’s largest events company with 500+ trade shows in 36 countries.
Since 2010 he has had a ‘plural’ career as a Chairman/ Director / Advisor for a broad group of media organisations including Gartner Inc, Centaur Media plc, Blue Rubicon, Hanover Communications, Longitude Research, Finn Communications, Dods Group Plc, Seahorse Environmental Communications etc. For 10 years he was Chairman of Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and for four years Vice Chairman/Trustee of SSAFA – the Armed Forces Charity.
