About the Charity Film Awards

WHY?

In the boom of social media and with increasingly lower cost of production, film and video content is now considered a key component in many charities' marketing tool kit.

The Charity Film Awards have been created to celebrate the success of film in fundraising, to increase exposure of charity films and to encourage donations for good causes.

WHAT?

These awards are clear in their objectives: to demonstrate that in the modern world film-making is the most powerful piece of equipment in the charity communication tool box. To demonstrate that the common perception of charities’ video content is incorrect. To demonstrate that a charitable video can inspire, incite to action, excite and change behaviour. Can make us laugh, as well as make us cry.

The charities that enter Charity Film Awards have created videos that have the power to move, to warm hearts, to inspire, to engage…. to change the world. To do good. The Charity Film Awards are designed to celebrate those qualities and help charities connect with a wider audience.

Whether or not you are a winner, engaging with the awards will give you an opportunity to share with your community and partners, a reason to engage and connect, a reason to tell your story. Nearly 10% of those who voted in 2019 also made a donation. More importantly, we estimate over a ¼ million extra views of the videos that entered, dozens of press stories and in excess of 2 million page impressions related to the awards on the internet.

Traditional awards celebrate good work. These awards celebrate work that does good.

The categories for entering are based on the charity's turnover for the latest financial year, so everyone has a chance to win an award regardless of the size of the organisation and the budgets available.

The films are judged in two phases...

The winners will be announced at a red carpet award ceremony in London.
